A powerful crime drama set in the streets of Jaffa’s Ajami neighbourhood. The film’s story is told through the view points of a cross section of the city’s inhabitants: a young Israeli who is fighting to save his family, a Palestinian refugee working illegally to make enough money for a life saving surgery, a Jewish police detective who is trying to find his missing brother and an affluent Palestinian who is trying to create a future with his Jewish girlfriend. As their stories intersect we experience a dramatic collision of the different worlds and the consequence of enemies living as neighbours. Ajami s a captivating cinematic experience.
