Tikkun Olam update: Food appeal and Marikana movie

Three weeks back, Beit Emanuel began a Tikkun Olam project to support the platinum miners and their families, who are now facing malnutrition. We have had an excellent response and have already been twice to deliver loads of foodstuffs. We have managed to get hold of the movie “Miner’s Shot Down” which tells the story of the Marikana tragedy. This will assist us in understanding how our contributions are making a difference. A flyer accompanies this week’s bulletin which explains more about the movie. Date: Sunday 15th June at 6.00 p.m. in the Slome at Beit Emanuel. Tea will be provided and items such as booklets and T shirts will be on sale. Proceeds will go to the miners.
