You are invited to a workshop on Personal Stories of Migration on
Sunday, 27 October 2013 from 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. in the Courtyard at Beit Emanuel.
Our families all came to Johannesburg from other countries, from other cities and from different life experiences. Some came long ago and others more recently. Everyone has a story to tell. What is the story that you are carrying? The workshop will:
? Encourage participants to connect with their own or their families’ experience of migration
? Build relationships among participants through sharing and appreciating the uniqueness of each story
? Begin to recognise the common themes for all migrants who have and continue to arrive in our city.
We will reflect on the layers and nuances of the stories. Participants are welcome to bring photographs and other memorabilia. The workshop can accommodate a maximum of 40 participants.
For further information and to ensure your place at the workshop please contact Liebe Kellen at 082 346 2880
