Recognising Voluntary Efforts: Dr Kathryn Peck

Every now and then, we feel the need to recognise a member of the congregation for the contribution he or she makes to the welfare of Beit Emanuel. This month, I’d like to recognise Dr Kathryn Peck as our Volunteer of the Month.
Kathryn is a past Chair of the Beit Emanuel Management Committee (Mancom), and ran our Adult Education portfolio for many years.
The recognition, however, is for having volunteered to organise our roster of lay readers during the December/January holiday period, and ensuring that all services were properly led during Rabbi Ash’s absence. Kathryn also organises the Shamas roster for our Shabbat morning services, and more often than not does duty herself as Shamas on a Saturday morning.
If you would like to play a role in coordinating our Shabbat morning services, please contact Kathryn through the synagogue office.
(Kathryn will be attending the Beutel Leadership Seminar in Israel from 7 to 17 February 2013.)
Please don’t feel slighted if your name (or that of your favourite volunteer) doesn’t appear here. Instead, submit the name and a very brief motivation for recognition. (Staff members and current members of Mancom or the BoG aren’t being recognised in this way for now.)
