Mandela Day 2016: ‘Teddy Buddies’ Project

All children in hospital are distressed by the experience. Let’s try to alleviate this with a lovingly handcrafted teddy for every child admitted to hospital. Starting with Mandela Day this year, we are knitting, crocheting and collecting teddy bears which will be donated to children in hospital.

How can you get involved?: Knit or crochet a teddy bear. Pattern available from the shul office. Completed teddy bears can be dropped off at the shul; donate wool (double knitting type), knitting needles (8 or 9 inch) or suitable stuffing. These donations will be distributed to our keen knitters; donate any old teddies (in good condition) that you may have; get your friends, neighbours, colleagues, children and grandchildren knitting! We would really like to make this an ongoing project. The more teddies we make and collect, the better! If you have any queries or suggestions, please contact Max Green 084 364 3237, Diane Fine 083 450-2089 or Candice Schneider 073 817 3716.
