Merle Williams welcome our members back from their holidays.

On behalf of Rabbi Sa’ar and the Management Committee, I would like to welcome our members back to Beit Emanuel after the holiday season. We hope that everyone is feeling refreshed. 2016 is going to be another busy and productive year for the congregation.

A Tu Bishvat seder, focusing on the Religion School children and their families is being arranged for the late afternoon of Monday, 25th January.

Ahmed Kathrada has graciously agreed to address us on ‘Human Rights’ Shabbat (18th March). We are in the early stages of planning a Purim carnival for adults and children.

To return to the present, this Erev Shabbat we will be bidding a reluctant farewell to Tal Slome (our former youth worker) before she returns to Australia, as well as to Don Boroughs from the choir, who will be leaving shortly for the United States. Please join us, both to thank them for their creative contribution and to give them a traditionally warm Beit Emanuel send-off. I look forward to sharing services, conversations and activities with you in the coming months.

(Professor) Merle Williams, Chair of Mancom
