Nina’s Tragedies, the comic-tragic story of an Israeli teenager’s relationship with his eccentric aunt Nina, is the acclaimed winner of multiple Israeli film awards including Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Directed by Savi Gabizon, it tells the story of fourteen-year-old Nadav, who is obliged to move in with his aunt after a series of family tragedies leave both alone. By turns profound and whimsical, sexy and surprising, “Nina’s Tragedies” is ultimately about unconditional acceptance–and the power of love to heal. After the film and a break for tea, Israeli film-maker Eran Tahor will lead a discussion of the movie. Tickets: R50 each including tea and snacks. All welcome.
