Following the service on Shabbat mornings, Beit Emanuel hosts an interesting and informed speaker on a thought-provoking topic. Sessions run for approx. an hour starting at 11.15 am.
13 September – Nigel Branken will talk on “Transforming the Inner City” – Nigel and Trish Branken live together with their 6 children in the inner-city suburb, Hillbrow, in Johannesburg, South Africa. As they stand in solidarity with those facing extreme poverty, Nigel says, “What we focus on is primarily becoming friends to our neighbours and then trying to become good neighbours to our friends”
