Special Tisha B’av service on Monday

Tisha B’av is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar. From the destruction of the two temples, to the expulsion of the Jews from Spain to the Holocaust, we commemorate the history of Jewish suffering and connect with the pain of our ancestors.
It is a fast day beginning on the evening of Monday 15 July and continuing on Tuesday 16 July until the evening.
Beit Emanuel will hold a special service for Tisha B’Av to engage with our history on Monday 15 July 2013 at 6.15 p.m. – 7.15 p.m.
There will be no food served as this is a fast day.
It is customary not to wear leather shoes on Tisha B’av as a sign of mourning.
